Disturbingly, there was an attempted unauthorized entry by staff while we slept. Improvements needed: better housekeeping consistency, clearer communication regarding room features, and a more attentive front desk. The experience did not reflect the hotel's reputation, and future guests should proceed with caution.

This hotel is just a short walk from beautiful beaches and an array of fantastic restaurants, making it the perfect launchpad for weekend adventures; I loved that I could stroll to spots like Pompano Joe's, which is less than a 15-minute walk away, and enjoy fresh seafood with a view. The spacious and clean rooms added to the comfortable experience, and the free breakfast offered a decent variety to fuel my daily explorations. However, the hotel could improve on some maintenance details to enhance the overall stay.

The room was clean and tidy, but I found that the cleanliness varied. When the female housekeepers cleaned, it felt much more thorough. The beds were very comfortable, but the pillows were few and of poor quality. Temperature control in the room was adequate, ensuring a pleasant stay. there was a constant unpleasant smell in the hallways and our room. I had to wipe down surfaces upon arrival due to dirt. The pool was big and nice, providing a refreshing escape. Housekeeping should focus on more thorough cleaning and quality checks before guest arrivals.

The beds were super uncomfortable, causing back pain. Plus, we got kicked out of the dining area with our dog in front of everyone—so embarrassing. The lack of signs about dog policy is just ridiculous.

Staff friendliness varied; some were helpful, but others seemed indifferent. The noise from the hallways was disruptive at night, and housekeeping only came once during my five-day stay. With ants in the room and a lack of fresh towels, it left me wishing for a smoother experience. Beautiful building, but attention to detail is needed.

The kids had a blast exploring the Village of Baytowne Wharf with its dining options and shops, while my wife and I enjoyed the Golf Garden of Destin for a relaxing round of golf.

Chilled at the beach & smashed waffles every morning. Walked to awesome shopping spots near the hotel & even hit up a sick golf spot. The comfy rooms were vibes, and the staff was so clutch!
Yo, it would've been epic if they had a cool pool bar for us party animals to turn up & mingle. Like, imagine sippin' mocktails while vibin' to some tunes – next level!

I chose La Quinta solely for its proximity to James Lee Park Public Beach Access, and was pleasantly surprised by the 24-hour front desk and free shuttle service. The friendly staff also made my stay enjoyable. The village of Baytowne Wharf provided excellent dining options and a bar/lounge.
Rude early check-in experience. Thin walls.

the size of our room was great! the location was very convenient to everything we planned to do. the continental breakfast was well stocked with a variety of foods. the staff was great, even when we were having internet issues. location is very close to the beach. also the beds were very comfortable so we could really rest and sleep in!

Enjoyed the Gulf, kids had fun at the Track, and had a laugh on the Buccaneer Pirate Cruise. Vending machines were my midnight saviors.
Cockroaches in the room provided extra company, and breakfast was more of a guessing game than a meal.

The flat-screen TV was a nice touch for relaxing in the evenings. I was disappointed with the uncomfortable bunk beds that replaced the sofa beds. Not everyone needs bunk beds, and they were not very comfortable to sleep on. The air conditioning was a bit finicky, often getting too cold or too warm despite my adjustments. I appreciated the updated bathroom with its free toiletries, but I found the lack of soundproofing to be a downside. I could hear noises from neighboring rooms and the hallway, which made it hard to relax at times. the ironing facilities were missing in the room, which was inconvenient as I had some wrinkled clothes that needed attention. The staff at La Quinta were friendly, and the location near the beach was convenient. the lack of attention to detail in room cleanliness was evident. The windows were dirty, and the hallways had a lingering smell. The hotel exit onto the busy highway was also a concern for safety.
